Studying the works of established poets will help to gain a better understanding of what works and why it works. In this six-week course, The Pleasures Of Reading Poetry, students will complete weekly poetry writing assignments that encompass the language of poetry and the devices of sound. Students will increase their enjoyment of poems by looking for poetic devices used by the poets. The course emphasizes discovering sound, structure, style and painting with words.
