WRITERS' VILLAGE IS PROUD TO INTRODUCE YOU TO:

Karen Grünberg

ICQ: 1069856

Hi! I am Karen. Since my name is quite a common name, when I chat and post I generally use the nickname "karenika". It is not another name.  My family adds -ikas to the end of names as a term of endearment. I think it comes from the French language, but I could certainly be wrong. To make this even more complicated, I am not French. I am Turkish. For those of you who don't know where Turkey is, feel free to send me email and I will be happy to give a brief introductory geography lesson :-)

I spent the first 18 years of my life in Istanbul and then came to the US for college. After 4 delightful years in Pittsburgh, I am happy to be back in the city life of New York. My family is still in Turkey and I try to go back at least once a year. They are more than happy to come visit me and NYC, as well, so if you ever need Turkish delight, let me know.

I have an unending thirst for learning and reading. I work way too many hours a week, but I still try to take two to three courses a semester. I have recently taken classes in French, Italian, Sign Language, Yoga, Alexander Technique, and, of course, Fiction. I also try to read one to two books a week. I am a HUGE fan of the New York Public Library and would recommend it to anyone who lives in the area.

Recently, I have become obsessed with writing. I am trying to get myself on a schedule so that I can write every day. It's my New Year's resolution. This is not one of those "this year I will lose weight" resolutions.  This one will come true. Writing for T-zero is part of that scheme.

In my other life, I am a computer programmer for an investment bank, so if you have any computer questions, I can try my best to help.
