WRITERS' VILLAGE IS PROUD TO INTRODUCE YOU TO:

Julie Jennings

Mystery and Romance are my favorite genres. I like Mary Higgins Clark, Jayne Krentz, Barbara Michaels and Phyllis A. Whitney for a good read.

I've written stories since I was nine years old. Everywhere I went with friends, I found a story in what I saw. Loved scaring people with thoughts about maybe so-and-so was kidnapped or the abandoned cars in the woods were because there was a murder. My imagination has gotten me in more than one bit of trouble with my parents while I was growing up. :)

In the past I wrote for Cuyamaca College newspaper and participated in writing for the Historical Society in Spring Valley, CA. Currently, I co-teach classes for the mystery and romance class along with developing the romance class. F2K has been a pleasure for me to mentor as well at WVU. Recently, I had a short story and six poems published in an anthology through my writing group, The Writers Round Table. It was a group self-publishing effort of about thirty of us. My story is called "The Last Holiday" and was written and critiqued while attending WVU. The book is called the Sun Never Rises, A Rainthology, edited by Val Dummond and by Authors of The Writers Roundtable. All authors are local from around Lakewood, Washington. Because of this effort, our group has been to seven book signings at present. Not only do we sign books but we do a reading for people as well. Recently, we were connected to amazon.com

Our current effort as a group is to write a personal portrayal of our experiences with self-publishing to help other writers with what it's about, along with thinking about what stories we want to come out in next year's Rainthology.

My passion for writing lies middle ground; I like mystery and romance, and my stories all have a little of both in it. That must be why I co-teach the mystery and romance class. I'm presently working on a novel, Villa Manchez.

I have three teenagers and seem to be the teen Mom of their friends. My children are creative as well. One is an artist; the youngest is a writer. My daughter writes poetry, whereas Peter writes fantasy and poetry.

I keep active by walking and bicycling. During each, I take a notebook with me to write down my observations. My favorite places to be are the ocean and waterfronts, bookstores, libraries and in front of my computer, writing.

Through WVU classes, teaching and study groups, my writing has grown in leaps and bounds. Writing is letting the child out in us to explore the treasures of life.

Favorite web sites Writers Village University, Another Novel Approach, and a friends website at Paul's Writing Den. This site offers book reviews and favorite writing places. Paul is a WVU member.
